Approximately 12 miles of moderate to extreme trails. Long steep descents and climbs at Walker Ranch will have your legs and lungs burning, but the scenery is unlike anything anywhere else in Boulder. Meyers Homestead is a more gradual steady climb that ends with a bench overlooking the continental divide.

Easy to moderate trails with a few steep climbs and technical sections. The steep hikes are worth the 360 degree views at the top. Mostly smooth trail and single track with only a couple technical sections through the canyons.

The trail is steep all the way from the parking lot to the summit loop, after that it levels off but gets more technical. Even though this park is not as big as the other surrounding trail systems, the difficulty should not be underestimated.

Steep climbs up Chimney Gulch to the summit of Lookout mountain where there are more family friendly trails and activities, Explore the trails around Boettcher Mansion and see Buffalo Bills grave. Beaver Brook is a long rolling technical single track trail with views of Clear Creek Canyon.

Betasso Preserve, Boulder, CO

Mostly moderate rolling single track trails. Prepare for a steep 1 mile climb if you park at the lot on Boulder canyon.

Chautauqua to Eldorado Canyon trail network, Boulder, CO.

Moderate to extreme trails. Many intersecting trails make this great for adventures of any time frame, but prepare for several hours to a full day if you plan on tackling any of the peaks. Chautauqua and Eldorado Canyon parking lots are always full on weekends but most people don't know to park at NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research) so that lot always has space. Popular hikes include the First Flatiron, Green Mountain, Royal Arch, Mallory Cave, and Bear Peak.

Apex Park, Golden, CO

Mostly smooth single track trails with a handful of technical rocky sections. Use Apex trail for a gradual climb up the valley to get behind the mountain or try to tackle the steep climbs up Pick-N-Sledge

Over 20 miles of multi use trails for all abilities. Steep climbs with rocky technical sections make the bottom tougher than the smoother wider paths at the top.Seasonal camping also available with camp reservations that can be found here.

Moderate to extreme trails. Steep technical trails on the front side of Sanitas and longer smooth winding single track trails on the back. Not as high as its neighbors to the south make this one of the most popular summits in Boulder.
